Hi Simon
Any luck with the cosmos?

Hi Kay, Yes but this year I have a bigger seed range and decided to sow a mix of different colours in seed pots. Every seed seems to have come up so I"m hoping to keep them in pots till the spring flowers are over. With hind sight I should have held off a couple of months.
In past years I have tried just scattering other colour Cosmos but without much success.

I had the yellow cosmos in my backyard, a few years ago now, and they just went wild and beautiful, all from scattered seeds. Havent tried any other colours though.
Maybe I should try again, love cosmos. and poppies. Id like to try the pinks.
Its been a pretty warm winter though, on average. You might be able to put your pots out sooner this year, though I have read somewhere (I think on the labels on the seed packets) that cosmos do better when planted directly rather than being transplanted.
Best of luck, hope you get a great display

The Cosmos were sown in paper pots so there is no root disturbance. I have just put in some Diablo Red to add to the colour range.
