Finding Terracotta Pots

Hello, I am wondering if there are any thoughts as to where you can find "interesting" terracotta pots. I love the way terracotta ages and have a few unusual yet practical pots but in recent years have found it hard to find non-standard pots. The big nurseries and hardwares have a very limited style range, there must be more available? I would love any suggestions in the Sydney region. Many Thanks, Anne

There"s often nice, weathered terracotta pots for sale on Gumtree. Jason

I bought an old collection of mix and match, terracotta pots on e-bay. Very inexpensive. Its worth keeping an eye on ebay.

Many thanks, the Internet is is! Anne

Hi, I purchase cheap terracotta pots from Bunnings. Prices start around $2. I then grab some of my favourite coloured paints in spray enamel and give them a few coats. I am currently creating a "butterfly garden" and I"ve painted my pots in really bright pink, purple green and blue and matched my plants to contrast. Looks bright and cheery in the rainy weather.

I too dislike the standard new look of terracotta pots but have found it takes no time at all with constant watering for the pots to achieve that lovely patina some of us desire. I have well over 200 pots in my garden (not all terracotta) as love the effects you can achieve with large containers and variety of plants you can grow. I live in the Dural area and many nurseries have older pots for sale which are potted up with something and I"ve often bought them just to get an aged pot if I don"t want to wait for nature to take its course.
