Moving Just Joey

Started by Charlie - 3002 Sunday, 03 May 2020

For years a Just Joey rose has bloomed bravely in my inner city (Melbourne) front garden. Its on the south side of a tall house and trees in neighbouring gardens have been growing. Now its time to find a new home for this rose. So should I dig it up now and place in a pot or wait until further into winter? It still has plenty of leaves. What do you think? Charlie

Charlie, I"m in Melbourne and would wait until early July when it will be asleep for the winter. That would be the right time to prune it right back. Shelley

Thanks, Shelley. I thought that was probably what should be done. Was just a bit impatient to get it moved.
