"Weeping camellia"

Started by Charlotte - 2577 Saturday, 22 June 2013
Does anyone know the cultivar name for the single pink weeping sasanqua Camellia? I have now seen it in 2 gardens. Both plants would be over 20 years old so I doubt it it Marge Miller (which is semi double). Neither plant looks to be grafted but I can"t quite tell. The last season growth would about 1 metre long at least.

There is a older weeping sasanqua named "Red Willow" which has mid to dark pink flowers. The flowers have a slight perfume when you walk past them. It originated in Wahroonga in 1964. There is a picture on the website of "Camelliasrus" at Glenorie.

Thankyou Pam, I think that may be the one. The narrow leaves seem just as reflexes as my one. Fingers crossed for success with my propagating them.
